Fox, Sheep, Hay

Fox, Sheep, Hay is based on the classic riddle involving three adversarial creatures or objects that must be transported one at a time across a body of water. The fox will eat the sheep, the sheep will eat the hay. How many moves does it take to safely transport all three across the water?

Tap the fox, sheep, or hay, to transport them across the water in either direction. You can also tap the boat when it is empty to move without cargo.

Fox, Sheep, Hay can be used during computer science lectures and workshops to assist in learning about labelled transition systems, mathematics, and graph theory.

Technocamps directed by Swansea University in partnership with the Universities of Bangor, Aberystwyth and Glamorgan aims to inspire young people aged 11-19 to attend workshops on a range of STEM and Computer Science subjects. Our long term goal is to encourage young people to pursue careers in an area that will drive economic growth in Wales.
